Lesson Plan (TPACK model)


     Subject: Science                                                                                  Class: IV

     Topic: Different kinds of food.                                                             Time: 45 Minutes

     Teaching learning materials: Internet with Google Docs, Powerpoint slides, images, digital tools text book.

     ICT model: TPACK model

     Teaching method: Inductive learning. 

      Previous knowledge: 

      ●       students understand the significance of consuming nutritious food.

       familiarity with the concept of a healthy diet.

       awareness that all living organisms require food for survival.


       Lesson objectives: At the end of the children will be able to; (follow the SMART or ABCD model)

  1. Identify different kinds of food correctly without the help of peer or teacher.
  2. Define food after the teacher’s explaination in their own words.
  3. Explain at least two importance of eating healthy food in their own words after the lesson.

Lesson Introduction   

  •  Recapitulate the previous lesson on the topic effect of sunlight in plant and begin the class by asking students, “what did you all had in your lunch?” and “why do you all think we need to eat meals on time?”
  • Expand on their responses and provide examples of different foods as following;






  •              Ask students to analyze the pictures carefully and let them try to name the food, where       can we find the particular food and its benefits. 
  •            Let some volunteers to share their work to the class.



Lesson development


  • Display the given slide and explain the content knowledge on the topic.

  •  Ask the students “what are the different kinds of food that we eat every day?”
  1. Which food do we eat as the part of our diet?
  2. Let the students respond to the question
  3.  Supplement on the response
  4.  Show them the pictures of the food for activity and explain on it

  • Pose questions "What types of food do bodybuilders typically consume?"

  1.       .  Show them a picture of a body builder to grab attention.
  2.        . Listen to the response and supplement on it.
  3.       .. Show them the pictures of food for growth and explain about it.

  • Ask the students “what a kind food we give to the sick people.
       1. Let them respond to the questions

  2. Supplement if necessary

  3. Show them the pictures of food for protection and explain about it.


Activity:

Instruction

       Divide the students into group of 4 members.

       Let the students work in the group to categorize the different kind of foods into ‘food for activity, food for growth, food for protection’.

Follow up:

 

       Ask students to define food in their own words.


       Ask them to write their favorite food and why they prefer it.

  


Lesson closure


  •       Let them share their answers  to the class( definition, favorite food with reason).
  •      Ask students what they have learned in today’s lesson?

  •    Add on their points and provide the positive feedbacks to end the class.
